CounselorDirect® is a software provider for HFAs (Home Finance Agencies) and government agencies in financial sectors. CounselorDirect powered technology offers a best practice infrastructure and secure online portals that provide tools such as user intake, data analytics, financial services, and system generated reporting for U.S. Treasury.

CounselorDirect plays an instrumental role in the direction and deployment of several federally funded and managed programs. Our core competency is understanding and defining workflow to ensure the efficient deployment of these programs, while building and powering the technology to support the programs. Based on CounselorDirect's current client list, more than $4.0 billion in federal assistance will be appropriated through a CounselorDirect powered system.

CounselorDirect has been successful in meeting a market need by changing with the economy and client demands. For example, The U.S Treasury announced the HFA Hardest Hit Fund program in early 2010, giving HFAs a very short time frame to formulate a program and proposed platform. The California based software provider has been able to quickly respond to the market demand and develop tools that meet the needs of their clients. As a result, CounselorDirect has nearly a 58% market share among Hardest Hit Fund states and continues to provide innovations for their clients, as well as the industry as a whole. CounselorDirect is the leading provider of software solutions for the states’ Hardest Hit Fund programs.

One of the biggest challenges CounselorDirect has faced in achieving its strategic objectives is as a non-legacy vendor to penetrate the marketplace of a government institution. It was a huge challenge, yet pertinent, to become a trusted advisor to the unique cultures and requirements of HFAs and nonprofit counseling agencies. Once CounselorDirect accomplished that, the company had to quickly deliver a software solution that met their clients’ needs in a rapidly changing environment and market.

CounselorDirect overcame these challenges by engaging with a couple of initial customers that became their raving fans. They were able to gain the trust of their clients (and respect of competitors) through successful demonstration at the front lines of the issue.
